Description

Maximum power for heavy-steering sailboats

The Pcnautic Power Tiller Pilot is developed for larger and heavy-steering sailboats with tiller steering. The powerful PowerDrive delivers more than 175 kg of peak thrust and combines this with a high speed of 55 mm/s.

The Power is intended for sailors who need more power than a standard tiller pilot can deliver. The system can steer using the internal compass, wind angle, GPS course, waypoints, and routes. The use of an external compass is also possible.

Configuration and calibration are performed via the web interface on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. The Endurance MotorController offers additional protection against overload, short circuits, and excessive temperature, among other things. With the adjustable current limit and current limit warning, timely intervention is possible in the event of exceptionally high loads.

More than 175 kg peak force

Developed for larger sailboats and tillers with a high rudder load, where a standard drive offers insufficient power.

Powerful and fast

The PowerDrive combines very high torque with a speed of 55 mm/s for fast and powerful course corrections.

Endurance Motor Controller

With extensive safeguards, an adjustable current limit, and a timely current limit warning.

Key specs

  • Midstroke 675--1250mm
  • Stroke length 300 mm
  • Speed 55 mm / s
  • Peak power > 175 kg
  • Average usage approximately 4 A
  • MotorController Endurance version
  • Drive connection 2-pole screw connector

For whom and what possibilities?

  • For larger and heavy-steering sailboats with tiller steering
  • Generally suitable for sailboats from approximately 34 feet
  • More than 175 kg peak force at a speed of 55 mm/s
  • Endurance Motor Controller with extensive safety features
  • Adjustable current limit and current limit warning
  • Operation via display, phone, tablet, or computer
  • Steering by compass course, wind angle, GPS course, and waypoints
  • Integration with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 / SeaTalkNG (in conjunction with BC-Mini-2k) possible via USB and Wi-Fi

Powerful course control under high rudder load

The Pcnautic steering software starts correcting early and uses as little rudder deflection as possible. As a result, the boat can be kept on course calmly and in a controlled manner, even under heavier rudder loads.

The internal 9-axis motion sensor continuously records the course and movements of the boat. In combination with the powerful and fast PowerDrive, this ensures precise steering, rapid corrections, and high available steering force.

PowerDrive with Endurance MotorController

The PowerDrive delivers more than 175 kg of peak force, has a stroke length of 300 mm, and a speed of 55 mm/s. The internal limit switches interrupt the power supply to the motor as soon as a mechanical end position is reached.

The Endurance MotorController offers additional hardware and software safeguards against overload, short circuit, and excessive temperature, among other things. With the maximum current setting, the drive stops when the set limit is exceeded. The current limit warning can provide a notification even before this limit is reached. The midstroke can be adjusted between 675 and 1250 mm.

Thanks to the two-pole screw connector, the required cable length between the drive and MotorController can be adjusted to the installation itself. Please take into account the higher average current consumption of approximately 4 A associated with the more powerful motor.
