Description

Reliable course control for demanding sailors

The Pcnautic Offshore Tiller Pilot is a powerful and accurate autopilot for sailboats with tiller steering, equipped with an internal rudder position sensor and adjustable rudder limit warning.

The Offshore has been developed for racing sailors, solo sailors, and long-distance sailors who rely heavily on reliable course control. The system can steer using the internal compass, wind angle, GPS course, waypoints, and routes. The use of an external compass is also possible.

Configuration and calibration are performed via the web interface on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. The internal rudder position sensor enables an adjustable rudder limit pre-warning. This warns you at a set percentage of the rudder limit, allowing you to intervene before the maximum permissible rudder deflection is reached.

Internal rudder position sensor

Continuously measures the position of the tiller and enables an adjustable rudder limit warning.

Fast and accurate

High-Performance Steering corrects early and uses as little rudder movement as possible.

Timely warning before the rudder limit

Set the percentage of the rudder limit at which a warning follows, for example at 90% of the set maximum rudder deflection.

Key specs

  • Midstroke 600--900mm
  • Stroke length 300 mm
  • Speed 58 mm / s
  • Peak power 85 kg
  • Average usage approximately 1,5 A
  • Drive connection 5-pin, pre-assembled

For whom and what possibilities?

  • For racing sailors, solo sailors, and long-distance sailors
  • Developed for intensive use at sea and longer voyages
  • Internal rudder position sensor with adjustable rudder limit warning
  • Operation via display, phone, tablet, or computer
  • Steering by compass course, wind angle, GPS course, and waypoints
  • Integration with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 / SeaTalkNG (in conjunction with BC-Mini-2k) possible via USB and Wi-Fi

Calm and precise on course

The Pcnautic steering software starts correcting early and uses as little rudder deflection as possible. As a result, the boat stays on course more steadily and the propulsion system does not have to make large movements.

The internal 9-axis motion sensor continuously records the course and movements of the boat. In combination with the internal rudder position sensor and the strong, fast TillerDrive, this ensures precise steering, low power consumption, and limited noise.

TillerDrive with internal rudder angle sensor

The included TillerDrive is equipped with a large, robust motor, a stroke length of 300 mm, internal limit switches, and an internal rudder position sensor. The limit switches interrupt the power supply as soon as the mechanical end position is reached.

The centerstroke can be adjusted between 600 and 900 mm. Due to the internal rudder position sensor, the maximum total cable length between the drive and MotorController is 2 meters. The desired cable distribution and straight or angled 5-pin connector are selected at the time of ordering.
